Reyes Productions Wins Awards in Accolade Global Film Competition
(Virginia Beach, VA, January 1, 2015) – Angelo Reyes, of Reyes Productions/Pogi Boi Productions, has won a prestigious Award of Excellence: Film Short, Award of Merit Special Mention: Actor: Leading (Angelo Reyes as Ray Chandler), Award of Excellence: Post-Production Overall from The Accolade Global Film Competition. The award was given for Angelo’s exciting new short film that has a star-studded cast including Scott L. Schwartz (Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13) and Richard Zeigler (Wayward Pines, Olympus Has Fallen). “Heartless” was produced in the effort to increase awareness and promote film employment in Virginia Beach, VA. “Heartless” features an exceptional story based on the classic horror short story “The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe. “Heartless” will be released spring 2016.
“Heartless”, follows Ray Chandler played by Angelo Reyes, a special agent who goes undercover as a low level professional thief who holds up in an old abandoned warehouse after a bank robbery goes horribly wrong. While waiting for instructions from his crime boss, Ira Levin, another member of the crew and old man Stanley (Richard Zeigler), arrive at the rendezvous. Tensions rise as secrets begin to unravel and Ray is tormented by the old man’s evil eye which he hides beneath an eye patch.
The Accolade recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change.
